FAQ's
How do I know if a treatment or exercise session is for me?
Before your first appointment, we'll discuss any contraindications that may prevent you from receiving a treatment or taking part in an exercise session. If any new issues arise, please let me know and we can reassess, and sessions may be able to be modified.
Massage therapy is not a substitute for medical care, and you should continue any medical treatment or medication prescribed by your healthcare provider. Always consult your GP or healthcare professional for medical advice when needed.
What if I need to cancel or reschedule my appointment?
Life happens! Please provide at least 48 hours' notice if you need to cancel or reschedule your appointment. Late cancellations will incur a charge of 50% of the session fee.
Do you offer gift cards?
Yes! Gift vouchers are available for purchase and can be used for any of our treatments. They make the perfect gift for someone who could benefit from well-deserved relaxation or recovery. They are available to buy in person or online.
How do I book an appointment?
Please book via the online system, see the tab at the top of the webpage. I often block out set times for regular clients and I can accept bank transfers once your session are set up.
What should I expect after a treatment?
You may experience mild muscle soreness after soft tissue therapy or acupuncture, but you should feel much better as this subsides. Some people feel much better rapidly after treatments. Dry cupping can leave marks for a few days after treatment but let me know if this is an issue and it can be minimised. My style of Soft Tissue therapy is to not fight the body and your nervous system but work with it to relax and release tissues. Essentially we are working with the nervous system rather than breaking anything down and causing unnecessary pain and resistance.
I offer a wide range of techniques so if you are not keen on needles or cupping marks these can be avoided. It’s your treatment and there are many alternatives.
What should I wear to my appointment?
If you're female and coming in for an upper body massage I recommend wearing a bra that can be unfasten at the back, to allow access to your back when you’re lying face down.
When treating the lower limbs loose fitting shorts are better than tighter cycling shorts, to allow access to the upper legs and glutes. Underwear is also perfectly fine.
Feel free to leave on as much clothing as you feel comfortable with. You will always be draped in a large towel for your comfort and privacy.
Underwear must be worn to ensure modesty and comfort throughout.
